Professor Xiaohua Yang has been recognized in both the international academic community and media for her research on Chinese enterprises in the U.S. and the globalization of Chinese business. As an award winning scholar, she explores the relationship between brand recognition and firm performance, internationalization of Chinese firms, R&D strategic alliances, and foreign market entry strategies. She is very active in the business community and has served on many boards.

Associate Professor Liang Wang brings a wealth of cross-cultural experience to USF. His esteemed research, published in leading academic journals, focuses on the interplay between strategy and geography, with an emphasis on local competitiveness within a global context.

VIVIAN FAUSTINO

Vivian Faustino is a multi-awarded educator specializing in international business, entrepreneurship, and marketing. She has 20 years of banking and consulting experience in Asia and North America and has served in senior management positions in various financial institutions. She founded the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at City College of San Francisco to make entrepreneurship education accessible to non-traditional adult learners.

Vivian received the highly acclaimed Canvas' 2020 Educator of the Year, first-place winner for the Ratcliffe Foundation Pitch for the Trades, and was selected as one of Intuit's Academic Ambassadors. She presented in various academic and industry conferences and was interviewed at 2020's Amazon Public Sector Summit. Her leadership led the Center for Entrepreneurship to be recognized as NACCE's 2021 Entrepreneurial College of the Year. Her work in the area of entrepreneurship and innovation was featured in the PBS segment, "Inside California Education." Vivian is completing her doctoral degree in Adult Learning and Leadership at Columbia University.

Professor Roger Chen brings to USF forward-thinking expertise in the fields of corporate innovation and growth, competition and global strategy - areas he views as entirely interdependent. By developing a balanced approach to his research endeavors - devoting equal time and effort between pure quantitative/academic research and case research methods - Dr. Chen embodies academic rigor, benefiting his students, fellow academics, global corporations and communities with his egalitarian work philosophy.

Professor Peter Lorentzen is a member of the Economics Department at the University of San Francisco and director of the Master's of Science in Applied Economics.  He was previously on the faculty at the University of California, Berkeley, and has also taught at Stanford University.

Dr. Chakraborty received her PhD at the University of Minnesota. Her areas of specialization include: applied macroeconomics, international macroeconomics, international finance, and development economics. Dr. Chakraborty has published research articles in the Journal of International Business Studies, Economics Letters, and the Journal of World Economic Review.

Stephen Roddy is Professor and Chair of Modern & Classical Languages at the University of San Francisco.  His research focuses on premodern East Asian literary history and cross-border cultural exchange. He has recently held research fellowships at Sogang University (Seoul), the National Library (Taipei), Nanjing University, Peking University, and the International Research Institute for Japanese Studies (Kyoto).

Richard Greggory Johnson III is a tenured Full Professor and Department Chair for the Department of Public and Nonprofit Administration, School of Management, University of San Francisco. He is also Director of the Business Minor in the School of Management as well.

Professor Johnson’s research centers on social equity within the fields of public policy, management, higher education and Human Resources Management.  He has been teaching in higher education for almost twenty years and is widely published with several peer-reviewed books and over two dozen peer-reviewed journal articles.

Professor Johnson holds graduate degrees from Georgetown University, Golden Gate University and DePaul University.  He holds membership in: Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society; Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society; Pi Gamma Mu Honor Society. Professor Johnson is also a life Member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated.

Sun-Young Park, Associate Professor, draws from her extensive academic and professional expertise in strategy, service management, corporate social responsibility, business branding, and marketing. She strives to help her students develop more sustainable business models for various firms.

As a former management consultant for a leading multinational firm, Park has advised global companies and national government agencies in both the Asia Pacific and U.S. Additionally, while pursuing her Ph.D. at Texas A&M University, she produced reports evaluating Texas State agencies' marketing programs.

Most recently, Park has examined the role of corporate social responsibility activities in fostering a quality relationship with frontline employees within firms.

Park enjoys exercising and learning about the workings of the brain and mind.

Karl Boedecker, Professor of Law, is one of the great pillars of USF's School of Management. Barry W. Doyle, Professor of Finance, is a much admired leader and educator in the undergraduate, MBA, and Executive MBA programs, having been with the School of Management since 1984. Professor Doyle serves as acting Faculty Director at China Resources Holding Company and Guangzhou Enterprises, overseeing their Executive MBA Distance Learning Program as well as teaching corporate finance.

Ker Gibbs has served in executive and board level positions with public and privately held companies. He was most recently the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, where he focused on US-China relations and business issues facing American companies operating in Asia. Mr. Gibbs has lived in Asia for more than two decades and is a Mandarin speaker.
