In Memory of Mayor Edwin Lee

December 15th 2017

Xiaohua Yang, Ph.D. 杨小华博士 Professor and Director, China Business Studies Initiative School of Management, University of San Francisco

On behalf of the entire China Business Studies Initiative (CBSI) community, I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the family of the late Ed Lee. CBSI was awarded the Certificate of Honor for its official launch on February 8, 2014, bestowed by Mayor Lee.

Mayor Lee was highly respected by the citizens of San Francisco, and beyond to other counties in the Bay Area. He was regarded as a visionary leader by anyone who ever worked with him.

Mayor Lee was a major part of CBSI and the University of San Francisco as a whole. We all benefited from his visionary leadership and his tremendous effort on building a stronger US-China relationship. His contributions are far-reaching into the future. Mayor Lee steadfastly steered San Francisco through turbulent times with grace and courage.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences at this difficult time. Ed Lee was a remarkable man., I am well aware of the difference he made in the lives of many people, both in San Francisco and across the country, many will miss him.

We honor his legacy and mourn his loss alongside his family and our friends, the people of San Francisco.
